Do any of you have Easter traditions other than attending Easter church service? Do you have an Easter tradition that some might think a little silly? My non-church and maybe silly Easter tradition is watching the movie "The Ten Commandments". It was shown last night on network TV, but with the commercial breaks, was on from 7pm till around 11:45pm (yuck). I bought a DVD copy years ago so I can watch without commercial interruptions. I pretty much watch it every year, sometime during Easter weekend. I started playing it about 30 minutes ago, and am about to move to my comfy sofa with a cold diet soda sitting nearby, and start stitching.
I hope everyone is having a happy and blessed Easter weekend.

Sounds like a good tradition. We don't really have any but my brother-in-law always made fish and eggs for breakfast. No idea why though. LOL

we always have an easter egg hunt for the kids (usually at Aunt Cathy's) and then one for the adults. But we didn't have that this year, easter was at my sis's house and Allison's birthday party as well. Oh well, next year
Usually dressing up and looking forward to potato salad (with interestingly colored egg bits included). This year I indulged in an entire day of watching the America's Next Top Model marathon.... not very introspective of me.
Ten Commandments is one of our traditions too. But, just like you mentioned, with commercials it is like a marathon until the wee hours of the evening. So, for the 2nd year in a row, my family only got up to the pre-plagues portion before going to bed.
BTW...blog surfing through Big Blog of Blogs lead me to yours this morning and reading I found out that you were part of that AZ group (w/Michele & Karen who I have become acquainted with via the Friendship RR).
our Easter tradition is doing Easter baskets for family and friends and delivering them to their doorstep on Saturday night so they are there in the morning on Sunday .. we're the Easter Bunny's helpers :) We've been doing this for about 29 yrs .. and one year we delivered 15! I think that was a record year! lol
Hello ! I've just discovered your post about Easter traditions. In Hungary we have some..We paint eggs, eat boiled eggs and ham for breakfast on Easter Sunday. The next day- Monday is also a holiday in Hungary. This day boys and men go to their women friends ,relatives or neighbours to "sprinkle " them with perfume. Before sprinkling women, men perfome a short - sometimes funny poem .In the past they sprinkled women and girls with a bucket of water..For the "sprinkling" girls give men painted eggs.
Easter egg hunt for the kids also exists.
